Card issuer Marqeta has launched the Marqeta Cares Charitable Giving programme.

The programme enables Marqeta to expand support for community organisations.
It will include providing meaningful career opportunities and access to technology.
400,000 company shares will be committed to the programme as well as over $300,000 in support to nine nonprofits.
What does this mean?
During the pandemic and the incidents which amplified the Black Lives Matter movement, Marqeta took the decision to try and support the resilience of communities it operates in. Now, it has set aside 10-year equity to establish its charitable giving programme.
The programme will support organisations which focus on advancing equity, diversity and inclusion within startups and technology.
