Thales has released a voice payment card to support visually impaired people.
In Brief:
The Voice Payment Card will help visually impaired people to conduct transactions at a point of sale.
Users can install an app on their mobile phone which will be linked to their card.
The mobile app says the amount of the transaction aloud and users can validate it using their own code.
What does this mean?
The card works by communicating between a mobile app and POS terminal via Bluetooth and has been developed with a FinTech called Handsome. Customers will be able to hear the information on their own phone.
