Tala raises $145mn for financial inclusion 

FinTech Tala, which offers financial services to the underbanked, has raised $145mn Series E funding. 

In Brief:

Tala offers borrowing, savings and money management options for underserved communities. 

It has now raised $350mn in total VC funding. 

Its investors include PayPal Ventures, GV and Revolution Growth. 

What does this mean? 

It plans to expand its offering across Kenya, the Philippines, Mexico, India and the US. The main development will be cryptocurrency offerings.
