Wise, international transfer FinTech formerly known as TransferWise, has launched new services in India.
In Brief:
Customers in India will be able to transfer money to 44 different countries.
These include the US, UK, UAE, Singapore and euro zone countries.
Last month, Wise enabled US users to send money to India, in partnership with Google Pay.
What does this mean?
According to CNBC, the ability to transfer money out of India has been a “heavily requested” service from Wise. CEO Kristo Kaarmann said India is an “exciting” space. “The build up of local payments infrastructure and UPI has been very interesting to observce,” he told the news outlet.
