Playter, buy now pay later for businesses, raises $55mn

Playter, a BNPL platform that serves small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to help them grow, has raised $55mn.

In Brief: 

The funding is a mix of debt and equity. 

The round was led by Adit Venture Capital and Fansanara Capital. 

It also included Fin Capital, Act Venture Capital, and 1818 Ventures.  

What does this mean?

The news couples the continued popularity of buy now, pay later solutions with a recognised need to support small businesses with their cashflow as they battle economic pressures. It follows on from a recent raise of $1.7mn in March and Playter is planning expansion within the UK market.
