Could Amazon be partnering with Goldman?

Reports emerged on Tuesday that Amazon could be looking to partner with Goldman Sachs.

In Brief:

  • The news came out on Tuesday morning from CNBC and the Financial Times.

  • The partnership would involve Goldman Sachs providing loans through the Amazon Marketplace.

  • Goldman Sachs is reportedly working on the technology to integrate systems.

What does this mean?

Goldman has made several technology deals recently including an investment in Trussle. Amazon is already offering loans to its business customers and has been in talks for some time about offering more financial products on the platform.
