Amazon launches insurance comparison offering

Amazon has launched a home insurance comparison website for UK customers. 

In Brief: 

Amazon is launching a home insurance portal in Britain. 

It will enable users to compare prices for insurance. 

The three first insurers to sign up to it are Ageas UK, Co OP and LV = General Insurance. 

What does this mean? 
This is Amazon’s foray into the UK insurance market and algins with many predictions that people will soon prefer to access their financial services through a large technology brand. It’s also something that might rival existing price comparison sites, with Reuters reporting that Moneysupermarket.com saw its share prices reduce by 15% at the news.
