Scotland shows FinTech is For All

FinTech Scotland has signed the FinTech For All Charter to promote diversity and inclusion in FinTech.

In Brief:

  • The charter, of which FinTech Alliance was a founding signatory, has been signed by FinTech Scotland and 23 Scottish-based firms.

  • The pledge asks firms to commit to a number of steps to make their workforce more inclusive.

  • It reflects a commitment to making the industry as a whole open to everyone.

What does this mean?

The Charter was created based on a survey into bias and harassment in the FinTech industry by InChorus. It aims to be a pledge that FinTechs can commit to, no matter their age or size. The Charter is supported by a steering committee including FinTech Alliance, Innovate Finance, Level39 and the FCA.

Nicola Anderson, new Chief Executive of FinTech Scotland, said the Charter reflects FinTech Scotland’s values of “innovation, collaboration and inclusion”.

She added: “The FinTech Scotland cluster creates an environment of connection and belonging, welcoming a wide range of diverse participants and we’re stronger for it. Scotland has a strong reputation for fintech for good and we’re looking forward to seeing this continue to grow.”
