Three FinTech Alliance community companies - Revolut, N26 and OakNorth - feature in the Top 10 of this year's FinTech50.
The annual index of Europe's 50 most exciting FinTechs was launched last night in London at a reception hosted by Standard Chartered. The companies were selected from over 2000 European FinTechs and represent the cream of new financial services innovation and business models.
This year's list also includes German FinTech powerhouse, Raisin, French digital health insurance pioneer, Alan, British mainstream challenger bank, Monzo and another Community Hub stalwart, Thought Machine.
Topping the list this year is Onfido. The London-based RegTech specialist was founded in 2012 and today is a global presence with offices in San Francisco, New York, Lisbon, Delhi and Singapore. It has received over $110mn in funding from investors that include Microsoft Ventures, Salesforce Ventures and Idinvest Partners.
The FinTech50, which was founded in 2012 by Julie Lake, is selected by an international panel of industry experts with the brief to choose the companies they believe will be the ones to watch over the next 12 months. This year the panel focused on innovators who are delivering value to individuals, business and financial services.
As the FinTech50 list demonstrates, what once was a guide to emerging talent in a fledgling sector has now become a who's who of the companies that are driving change in global financial services and helping shape the future of banking.
