The consultancy and trade body have teamed up to launch an app and educational programme for pupils in Scotland.
In Brief:
The app aims to help students better manage their own personal finances.
Meanwhile, it offers “big picture” education around topics like financial inclusion, banking and cryptocurrency.
There will also be a focus on how technology is being used in financial services and what happens to people’s data.
What does this mean?
Deloitte says the goal of this programme is not just to equip students with knowledge, but encourage them to pursue FinTech as a career. Kent Mackenzie, FinTech lead for Scotland, says there is currently a risk in the UK of “sleepwalking into a digital skills gap” and that education around FinTech must start earlier.
