Weavr, a pioneering embedded finance provider, has secured an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) Licence from the Maltese Financial Services Authority (MFSA), enhancing its capability to support European B2B SaaS businesses with embedded finance solutions.
- The European e-money licence facilitates the broader adoption of embedded finance in the B2B SaaS industry. It marks a significant milestone for Weavr, allowing it to offer seamless financial integration and customer experiences across Europe.
- Weavr's operating model, designed to address regulatory concerns and ensure high-security standards, was rigorously reviewed by the MFSA. This scrutiny underscores Weavr’s commitment to providing a secure and reliable embedded finance solution.
- The licence enables Weavr to develop a robust domiciled IBAN offering and bring a wide range of financial products to Europe, supported by a strategic partnership with Visa. Integrating comprehensive financial workflows, will enhance productivity and reduce errors for Pan-European B2B SaaS businesses.
Speaking on securing the EMI licence, Alex Mifsud, Co-founder & CEO of Weavr said:
“This licence is a seminal milestone in Weavr’s evolution. It enables us to deliver our ‘embeddable by design’ operating model, which we have refined over the past few years through our collaboration with several financial partners, in its purest and most powerful form."
