UK Parliament opens crypto sector inquiry

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the UK Crypto and Digital Assets sector has opened its inquiry.

In Brief:

This is a group of parliamentarians from different parties looking into the need for regulation in the space.

The group will take feedback from stakeholders across the industry.

It will hear from crypto operators, regulators, industry experts and Government.

What does this mean?

The group will be a forum for “parliamentarians, policy makers and the UK crypto sector” to discuss what policies and regulations should be implemented for the crypto sector in the UK. It will look what role the Government and regulator should play, how to keep consumers safe — and even the potential of central bank digital currencies.
