Despite the economic strains of Covid-19, FinTech companies in the UK saw £3bn investment last year.
In Brief:
-
£3bn was invested across 408 deals.
-
This comes from a report by Innovate Finance.
-
While the UK comes top in Europe, the US is ranked highest globally with around £16bn worth of deals.
What does this mean?
Global FinTech has risen by 14% in 2020, spurred on by the Covid-19 pandemic where other industries ground to a halt. Other top countries in Europe for investment were Germany and Sweden, but the UK accounted for just under half of all investment in the continent.
