The Department of International Trade (DIT) is running a global partnerships programme called Leading Edge.
In Brief:
-
It aims to help financial institutions from across the globe access British FinTech.
-
The first key markets in focus are Singapore, Australia and the US.
-
Leading Edge will create the right environment for new partnership and investment opportunities in FinTech.
What does this mean?
The programme will focus on some of the areas the UK has seen particular success in like RegTech, RPA (robotic process automation) and AI. Having already made trade deals with various nations following the UK’s exit from the EU, with the transition period ending in just 20 days’ time, FinTech is a key sector for the country’s economy and will become a major area of export growth.
