Switzerland and Singapore are planning to team up to digitalise financial services, with a conference later this year.
In Brief:
The Point Zero forum will bring public and private sector leaders together in Zurich.
Both the Swiss and Singaporean governments will be in attendance as well as the Swiss National Bank and UBS Group.
Ravi Menon from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Urban Angehrn from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority will also attend.
What does this mean?
Both nations have agreed that digitalising financial services has huge potential to do good, and that new ways of working together are needed to “address key global challenges” and “seize the new opportunities”.
