SoftBank is teaming up with IBM to deliver cross-carrier blockchain solutions

The focus will be on technologies allowing smartphone users to make local payments overseas.
SoftBank will work with IBM as well as blockchain startup TBCASoft to develop crosscarrier blockchain networks.
TBCASoft technology enables clearing between different carriers.
What does this mean?
TBCASoft is part of the Carrier Blockchain Study Group, an 18-member consortium set up by Softbank. IBM has made it clear it won’t join the consortium, but will work to maintain a strong relationship with SoftBank and the other members in order to look at the potential for blockchain.
