UK FinTech Revolut launched in the US on Tuesday.
In Brief:
- The company already has 10mn users in Europe.
- It has partnered with Metropolitan Commercial Bank in the US.
- The card issues in the US will be a Mastercard which works with more than 55,000 ATMs on the Allpoint network.
What does this mean?
Revolut aims to expand into 24 markets in total, including North America, since partnering with Visa. While rival Monzo moved to the US in June, is has been rolling out services gradually. Revolut, on the other hand, has made all services available to everyone at once, apart from cryptocurrency trading. It has been in beta testing with over 60,000 users in the country since June.
