Revolut has released its new ‘financial super app’ as it reaches 12mn customers.
In Brief:
-
The app brings together various customer offerings.
-
The Home section includes open banking accounts and budgeting tools.
-
The Wealth section enables trading of stock, cryptocurrency and commodities like gold.
What does this mean?
With the redesign, Revolut aims to help users manage their finances all in one place, whether that’s day to day spending or investment. The bank wants to “reimagine and redefine” its offering to customers.
The decision to bring the Wealth products to the fore might have come from an increased use of the FinTech’s investment platforms in recent months – crypto trading has proved particularly popular, with the number of users buying cryptocurrency rising 68% over just two weeks during lockdown.
