UK FinTech PrimaryBid is closing its $150mn funding round, led by SoftBank’s Vision Fund II.
In Brief:
PrimaryBid enables retail investors to be involved in company funding rounds and IPOs.
It will be led by Japanese Giant SoftBank’s investment fund, Vision Fund II.
It's expected that the company will be valued at £368mn.
What does this mean?
PrimaryBid says its overall goal remains to democratise private equity markets so that those who are normally excluded from funding rounds and IPOs can be involved – whereas currently institutional shareholders are sometimes offered the chance to invest at a discount.
The aim now is to expand internationally, and it will also be able to use SoftBank’s range of technology solutions and expertise.
