NatWest has followed in Starling’s footsteps by introducing a “carers’ card”.
In Brief:
-
The card will be available to customers of NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank.
-
It can be topped up with £100 every five days.
-
Vulnerable customers can give the card to a trusted person to purchase essentials.
What does this mean?
A carers’ card has been a long time coming, with many groups calling for a way carers can easily and safely pay for shopping. This has been exacerbated by the Covid-19 crisis and the situation, coupled with Starling’s launch, may have greased the wheels for many more banks.
