NatWest has announced it will double its funding to support female-led business, to a total of $2bn.
In Brief:
-
This comes after £1bn was initially announced in January 2020.
-
It also wants to create an additional 35,000 new businesses in the UK by the end of this year.
-
The extra support has been added in the wake of Covid-19 and its economic impact.
What does this mean?
NatWest aims to help female entrepreneurs scale and grow their businesses – and even the 35,000 additional news businesses its committed to supporting will focus on underrepresented groups. The bank says that the demand from female-led businesses has already exceeded the initial £1bn commitment in under 12 months given the impact of Covid-19.
