Mastercard to help Covid recovery with “digital health pass”

Mastercard has committed to assisting the global recovery from Covid-19 with a “digital health pass”. 

In Brief:

The payments giant is working with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). 

It will help develop digital health pass solutions for Covid-19 test results and vaccine status.

At the moment this is largely still documented on paper.  

What does this mean? 

Mastercard and ICC plan to establish an “enabling environment” for digital ways of keeping track of who has had vaccines or been tested for the virus, and the organisations hope this will help tackle fraud and build trust.
