HSBC has launched an API Developer Portal, providing access to a suite of products.
In Brief:
Customers can now integrate the bank’s application programming interface (API) solutions into their own products.
It also provides a “secure testing environment” for developers.
The aim is to enable customers and developers to “find the right API” for their needs.
What does this mean?
HSBC’s Head of Digital, Global Liquidity and Cash Management, Nadya Hijazi, says that APIs will foster connectivity between the bank and other businesses.
“By opening up our API suite to customers and developers, we’re enabling them to rapidly integrate our solutions into their own products. Embedding our insights into customers’ own businesses will make them more resilient, and less dependent on the limitations of their own technology,” Hijazi commented.
