Luxury brand Gucci has announced it will begin to accept cryptocurrency payments in a number of stores.

The feature will be made available at select stores in the US.
Over 10 cryptocurrencies will be accepted including Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The pilot programme is set to begin at the end of the month.
What does this mean?
Gucci says that by accepting payments in cryptocurrencies it is cementing its position as a “digital first luxury brand”. It also plans to get more involved in Web3 as well as the Metaverse, having already released a number of NFTs.
