The Digital Finance Forum has revealed that a large number of FinTech founders are calling for more support.
In Brief:
-
A study published today says 67% of FinTech founders don’t think the sector is properly represented when it comes to policy and regulation.
-
Nine in 10 founders expect funding challenges in the next year.
-
The forum surveyed over 100 founders across the sector, including from “leading FinTech firms” in the UK.
What does this mean?
The Government has listened to the results of the survey and ppears to be taking them seriously, with Economic Secretary to the Treasury John Glen MP commenting:
“The Digital Finance Forum’s results reinforce my commitment to ensuring the UK’s pre-eminence as a place for fintechs to do business. We have recently launched a major independent fintech review which will consider how the UK can continue to foster innovation, maintain an ecosystem that supports growing firms, and promote the integration of new technologies across financial services.”
