Koen Köppen, CTO of Klarna, is moving to become CTO at Mollie.
In Brief:
The Dutch payments services provider has hired Köppen as its new Chief Technology Officer.
He was at Klarna for 10 years and was CTO for half this time.
Köppen will now lead on developing Mollie’s technology platforms, ensuring they are reliable and scalable.
What does this mean?
Mollie is currently expanding the payments processing services it offers to SMEs across the UK and EU. Just last week it partnered with Plaid to integrate technology that will improve aspects such as the onboarding process.
It calls the addition of Köppen a “unique opportunity” to add an experienced leader to its team. For his part, the new CTO says he can use his experience helping Klarna scale to enable Mollie to take advantage of growth opportunities.
