Contis becomes Mastercard principal issuing member

Payments FinTech Contis has announced its partnership with Mastercard as a principal issuing member.

In Brief:

  • Contis offers end-to-end Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS).

  • It can now provide its solution through Mastercard’s global payments network.

  • Through 2020 Contis has added open banking capabilities and moved part of its client base to a European entity to remain resilient through Brexit.

What does this mean?

This partnership marks yet another milestone on Contis’ growth journey – it already serves a significant number of FinTechs across Europe including Hastee, Swipe and PaySera. We spoke to Chief Disruption Officer Jason Ollivier this time last year, who said that a key part of Contis’ solution is its “99.9% uptime” that FinTechs can trust. He also hoped this year Contis would be able to “build and build and build” which it has certainly achieved.
