A new contactless system to donate money to homeless people has been implemented in Plymouth.

The system collects the donations and distributes them across three charities: Shekinah, Plymouth Access to Housing and Soup Run.
What does this mean?
Ever decreasing numbers of people seem to be carrying cash, making it less convenient to give money to people on the streets or drop cash in charity buckets. This system will make it easier to donate, but with the money going through a charity before it helps people, it will be interesting to see if this makes people want to give more.
