The Australian senate has reopened its committee on FinTech and RegTech in the wake of Covid-19.
In Brief:
-
The Australian Select Committee on Financial Technology and Regulatory Technology started in October to examine opportunities for the Australian sector.
-
It had finished its last round of public hearings in February.
-
Now, submissions have been reopened until 10 April.
What does this mean?
The Select Committee says that the economic and financial environment in Australia has “changed dramatically” due to the global pandemic. It hopes to find out the best courses of action in the sort, medium and long term, both to support the industry and find new solutions that can be delivered by the government and private sector.
