Apple has launched its Express Transit feature for tubes, buses and trains in London.
In Brief:
-
Currently using Apple Pay for transit requires biometric authentication.
-
Up to now users have had to use a fingerprint or facial recognition to tap in or out.
-
Apple Express Transit now allows a specific card to be designated for TfL without authentication.
What does this mean?
This will make tapping in and out at tube stations faster for everyone, and will also avoid excess charges reported by many users with e-wallets, which have occurred when two different cards are registered on mobile for one journey.
