FinTech unicorn Airwallex has just closed its record funding round to date.

In Brief:

• The Series D round included ANZi Ventures and Salesforce Ventures as new investors.

• Existing investors such as Tencent and Sequoia also took part.

• Airwallex’s total equity raise since it was founded in 2015 is now $360mn.

What does this mean?

Airwallex will use the funding to accelerate its worldwide growth across Europe, the US and new markets. It will also be able to expand its product line, which already helps users make high-speed, low-cost international payments, to include payment acceptance solutions.
