Affirm adds installment option for Shopify

US FinTech Affirm has partnered with ecommerce business Shopify to enable flexible payment options.

In Brief:

Shop Pay Installments, powered by Affirm, is now available to US Shopify merchants.

The feature enables buyers to use a “buy now pay later” option without leaving the platform.

Affirm says that as well as a flexible way to pay, it also provides unparalleled speed and ease of integration.

What does this mean?

Shop Pay Installments has been available to some merchants via “early access”, and Affirm reports that one in four merchants saw 50% higher average order volume. Affirm says that being able to complete the whole transaction on the Shopify platform, instead of being taken offsite to a third party, will also lead to lower cart abandonment.
