YBS has introduced an app for its customers to manage their savings accounts this month.
In Brief:
-
The building society says it will be a “secure and easier way” to manage savings.
-
Over 15,000 customers had pre-registered at the time of launch.
-
Users can make payments, view all savings accounts in one place, and see transaction history.
What does this mean?
Covid-19 has exacerbated the need for in-app banking, with six million people in the UK downloading their bank’s app for the first time within a month of lockdown. YBS says launching the app is the “first step” on its digital transformation journey. The building society says that while it begins to offer more digital services, “choice of access” will be a key priority.
