WhatsApp introduced peer-to-peer payments in India and Brazil

 WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is rolling out P2P payments in two markets.

In Brief:

The contact card of its messaging feature will enable people to pay family and friends. 

Users won’t have to leave the app. 

WhatsApp says that the payments are fee-free and secure. 

What does this mean? 

Adding a Pay button to the contact cards within WhatsApp has allowed the business to embed a payments function which it hopes will make the experience “even more intuitive”.
