Tech Taskforce for Wales has been set up to bring together Welsh organisations, inform the business community, and identify new initiatives to support the technology sector during the Covid-19 outbreak.
The taskforce includes representation from key industry partners, stakeholders and support agencies. It aims to “coordinate a dialogue with the Welsh and UK government and business finance institutions” to assess the impact of the crisis and help shape measures taken.
The taskforce is coordinated by Tramshed Tech, and includes:
- Amplyfi
- Wolfberry
- DevOpsGroup
- Development Bank for Wales
- British News Wales
- Business in Focus
- Focus Enterprise Hubs
The aim is to have a single point of contact for the technology, digital and creative communities, from freelancers, small businesses and SMEs to industry experts and financial institutions. It will also create more open lines of communication with government.
Mark John, Co-Founder and Director at Tramshed Tech Ltd, said: “It’s been so heartening and inspiring to see the response we have had from all the sectors of the Welsh tech economy, with a rang of partners all looking to join forces in this time of crisis.”
Chris Ganje, CEO of Amplyfi, added: “Amplyfi is well positioned to contribute to the Tech Taskforce; and initiative that will deliver vital support to many businesses in such unprecedented, challenging times. The Taskforce will bring many prominent Welsh businesses together to support each other going forward.”
