Visa has taken an interest in Airwallex’s extension of its Series E funding round, Bloomberg reports.

It’s already raised $200mn in September 2021 and added $100mn in November 2021.
Visa has now reportedly taken an interest to add more to this round, but Bloomberg says discussions are still ongoing.

The report’s sources could not be identified because the information is confidential, but Bloomberg adds that existing investors may also participate in an extension of the round. Airwallex, which already provides a number of virtual business accounts including international payment capabilities, is growing fast and already has the backing of Tencent Holdings.
