Telco giant Orange to partner on mobile banking 

Orange is currently looking for a partner for its banking startup. 

In Brief: 

Orange has been developing an online bank since it bought 78% of Groupama Bangue. 

So far, the business unit has been making a loss. 

Now, Orange is looking for a banking partner to help build Orange Bank.

What does this mean?

Though the brand has pretty much disappeared here in the UK, Orange still operates across countries like France and Spain and has been making strides to improve mobile internet access in Africa. CEO Stéphane Richard says that the telco’s search for a banking partner has so far received several expressions of interest.
