Payments giant Stripe has hired Vivek Sharma as its new Revenue & Financial Management Business Lead.
In Brief:
Sharma was previously VP of Horizon at Meta, where he’s described his role as “building a new immersive social network in the metaverse”.
He will now join the new role overseeing revenue and financial management.
He's tasked with looking after Stripe Billing, Stripe Invoicing, Stripe Tax and Revenue Recognition.
What does this mean?
Sharma’s new responsibilities will help Stripe fulfil its goal of becoming a “one stop shop” for businesses, going beyond payments to look after a business’ entire financial outlook. He has experience from Meta especially in expanding Facebook Marketplace and its features.
