Standard Chartered opens digital skills lab in Singapore  

Standard Chartered has launched a new training lab to boost the skillsets of its employees in Singapore.  

In Brief:  

  • It aims to train up 8,000 staff by 2022.  

  • Skills in focus include data analytics, AI and blockchain.  

  • diSCover Lab offers both virtual and face to face coaching, with courses ranging from a few hours to 18 months.  

What does this mean?  

This comes after an initial commitment by the bank to invest US$3.74mn in enhancing digital skillsets in Singapore, where most of its tech and innovation hubs are located, and drive the digitalisation of its business.
