Payments FinTech Square (part of the wider company re-branded as Block) has introduced its new PoS equipment, Square Stand.
In Brief:
Square Stand blends hardware and software to create a customer-centric payment experience.
A highlight is the integrated contactless and chip and PIN payment technologies as well as the ability to swivel the stand to involve the customer in the experience.
It also includes a number of software tools including marketing and people management.
What does this mean?
The Square Stand aims to include as much as possible in one countertop device in order to not only save space for smaller businesses but to offer as many apps and tools as a business might need to carry out not just payments but other tasks including stock take, rota management and even email marketing.
The stand is also a way to make the payment experience more customer centric and transparent – not just software but hardware wise: the stand swivels to show the customer the exact total and breakdown of what they are purchasing.
Alyssa Henry, Head of Square, commented: “The way businesses and shoppers interact around the world has evolved exponentially in the time since we first launched our original Square Stand.
“The new Stand was built with the future of commerce in mind. Marrying elegant design with powerful software, Square Stand provides sellers of any size, from boutique retailers to multi-location restaurants, with a versatile command centre for their business.
“Square Stand offers sellers an integrated way to meet the purchasing preferences of today’s consumers.”
