Revolut has reported an increase in spending through its platform in Ireland.
In Brief:
-
Ireland entered its third phase of easing lockdown on Monday 29 June, with hairdressers and pubs opening.
-
Spending via Revolut increased 52% compared to the daily average during lockdown.
-
It also increased by 23% in comparison to a pre-lockdown Monday.
What does this mean?
With Revolut only in the Irish market since 2016 it’s interesting to see Irish news outlets now using the company’s stats to gauge consumer spending – but it makes sense, since this year it was announced one in four Irish adults uses the challenger bank and its customers have been increasing since the Covid-19 lockdown.
