Proposed licensing of certain services in relation to crypto assets

Over the last few years, crypto assets have drawn increased regulatory attention not only because the Bitcoin price has surged substantially but also because of the number of crypto exchanges and virtual asset service provider businesses that have grown exponentially. As a result, traditional financial market participants have become increasingly interested in these assets. So far, the regulators have had to play catch up and much of the crypto world remains unregulated. Although European coordination is in the offing, the current approach is still very fragmented.

By attending this session, you will:

  • gain an understanding of the current landscape in relation to crypto asset regulation in Germany, France, Ireland, Spain, The Netherlands and the UK;
  • learn about what the proposal might mean for your business and those you deal with, including an introduction to our proposed cross border crypto navigator tool; and
  • benefit from Simmons’ expertise as a leading Fintech law firm.

Speakers include:

  • Rosali Pretorius - Partner at Simmons & Simmons
  • Jochen Kindermann - Partner at Simmons & Simmons
  • Louis-Maël Cogis - Partner at Simmons & Simmons

Plus many more.
