PayPal and Apple have agreed to accept payments from each other’s products.
In Brief:
US merchants can accept contactless payments on their iPhones.
This was thanks to Apple’s Tap to Pay product released this year.
These can now be accepted through the PayPal app and PayPal’s Venmo app.
What does this mean?
As part of the agreement, Apple Pay will be added into PayPal’s checkout options which can be used by merchants with their own branding. As of next year, US customers will also be able to add PayPal and Venmo’s debit cards to their Apple Wallet.
