Software company Oracle plans to hire almost 2,000 new workers as part of its expansion plan.

What does this mean?
Oracle currently has 16 ‘regions’ where data can be stored locally so companies remain compliant with data laws. It plans to open 20 more. New jobs will mainly be in software development hubs and data centres, and will bring the software giant’s full headcount to around 138,000.
