Nine FinTech companies from the UK are in Australia as part of the FinTech Bridge programme.
In Brief:
-
The Department for International Trade has brought the companies along as part of the UK-Australia FinTech Bridge Pilot Programme.
-
The programme was launched in 2018 to form linked between the two FinTech ecosystems.
-
The companies are visiting both Melbourne and Sydney.
What does this mean?
The programme is part of a bilateral agreement to share knowledge and best practice, align international FinTech policy development and increase opportunities. The five FinTech Bridge hubs are Australia, South Korea, Hong Kong, China and Singapore. The bridge programme is run by HM Treasury and the Department for International Trade, both of which back FinTech Alliance, and the Financial Conduct Authority.
