Former Andreessen Horowitz partner, Rex Salisbury, is heading up a new early-stage venture capital fund.
In Brief:
Cambrian Ventures has launched its first $20mn FinTech focused fund.
It will invest at Angel, Pre-Seed and Seed stage.
Its investors include founders and operators from FinTech, including those from Plaid, Betterment, Jeeves, Blend and more.
What does this mean?
Salisbury has already started Cambrian as a FinTech community in 2016, which was designed to help share resources and mentoring between Founders and those who have already seen success. This ethos looks set to be carried on by the VC fund, with its investors made up of a similar community.
