Marquette Savings Bank releases education app

Marquette has developed a financial education app for children aged three to 12.

In Brief:

  • Mpowered Savings will help demonstrate the benefits of saving to children.

  • The app has been developed in partnership with HT Mobile Apps (HTMA).

  • Children can set goals, monitor accounts and improve their financial literacy.

What does this mean?

The app will allow children to learn independently through playing, as games of varying difficulty help users learn skills around money. However, parents will also be able to monitor the app by assigning and tracking chores for their children. The app idea has proved popular among teachers who recognise that financial literacy is lacking from the school curriculum.
