Klarna is now valued at $45.6bn 

Buy now, pay later FinTech Klarna has been valued at $45.6bn following its latest fundraise. 

In Brief: 

It’s been announced that it raised $639mn. 

The round was led by Japanese tech giant Softbank’s Vision Fund 2. 

Existing investors Adit Ventures, Honeycomb Asset Management and WestCap Group also took part. 

What does this mean?

Klarna is currently the highest-valued FinTech in Europe, as it focuses not just on expanding its buy now, pay later offering but also moving into other areas of bank-like products. Its new valuation is a 47.3% increase on its valuation of $31bn just three months ago.
