JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Citi lead FinTech investment – CB Insights

A recent study by CB Insights has shown that the banks to invest the most in FinTech are JP Morgan Chase, Citi and Goldman Sachs.

In Brief: 

  • US banks participated in 45 equity deals in FinTech startups in 2018.

  • The top three were followed by Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley.

  • Key sectors for investment were lending, blockchain and Regtech.

What does this mean?

Rather than seeing FinTechs and disruptors as a threat, banks are best advised to collaborate – and this research shows that even the most traditional banking behemoths have got the message.
