JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has said that the company’s online bank offering Chase is set to expand into Germany and the wider European region.
In brief:
-Chase’s European debut has so far only extended to the UK market, where it launched in September 2021 with the backing of 500 new hires.
-It was then exactly a year after it launched in the UK that JP Morgan started displaying similar intentions to expand again.
-Reuters reported last September on the company’s search for a ‘people project lead’ and ‘financial crime compliance officer’ in Germany, with both postings making references to the arrival of new consumer banking operation.
What does this mean?
“It has always been clear to us that we want to introduce Chase not only in the UK, but also in Germany and other European countries,” Dimon is quoted as saying by the German news outlet.
